I got a call from an artist friend who was all upset about the way the world seems to be inside out and utterly falling apart.
Uh-Oh!!!! Bear Is Surprised by Baby Skunk Fats!
She said, “When I look at how the world has gotten, I think why bother making art anymore? People say they are either too worried about rent to buy art, or scared about what tomorrow will bring. What’s the use? I feel like giving up. I keep wondering what the heck good does art do?”
Later on in our conversation, she made me laugh when she answered her own question.
She said she had visited my facebook art group page, and my ‘Uh Oh’ pastel made her laugh, and it made her feel better.
I replied to her, “That’s exactly why you and I have to keep making art.”
