Times seem so dark and foreboding – so – here’s some light for you for today!

Have you ever noticed that most times we look at plants from the side? What happens when you look at them straight down from the top? This!

When I lived in Hawaii, I had ginger, turmeric and aloe plants in my garden. The aloe had big long fat leaves with wicked-sharp serrated edges. They tapered out to very sharp points, some of which had kind of hairy curly ends. Like this.

They grew right next to my cosmos and hibiscus. So beautiful when they all bloomed! Especially the aloe – lovely trumpet-shaped flowers that were thick, white, and that kind of translucent appearance that wax has when it’s hot.
