INTENTION

Last night someone asked me what I wanted this year to be all about. A thousand things came to mind, right?

I thought, well, I want to be healthier, wealthier, wise-dier …. But seriously – what did I really want?

I made time to deeply contemplate what I DO want for my future. Because so far, my yearly choices have been flimsy, un-doable, or simply too vague for the universe to act upon cohesively. Or ego-driven, or fear-based. Oops.

But now, a whole herd of words came crashing into my brain. Even though I wrote as fast as I could, I’m not sure I caught them all. That’s OK, they will come back in their own good time.

The one that stood out most was INTENTION. You’ve probably heard it said that ‘Intention is the strongest force in the universe.’

Well, I have no idea if that’s true, or even if it’s measurable. But I do know that any project I start with shaky intention never gets completed, never has any guts.

But the ones with clean, clear edges and solid substance and a thrumming cord to my heart always not only get done but far exceed my expectations.

So one of the things I want for my year is to be INTENTIONAL, and unstoppable.

It’s important to note that I have a chronic body thing that means pain 24/7. It just never freaking goes away, and every last thing I do just plain bloody hurts. Even lying down hurts.

But if you think for one split nano-second that that is going to get in my way, you are grossly mistaken.

It would be so easy to say, oh poor me, I can’t do xxx because, pain. Oh, poor me, past pain.

Remember Stephen Hawking? They guy whose work in physics is world-renowned and massively influential? (Think String Theory.) Whose body literally fell apart to the point that he looked like a broken doll someone ran over with a bulldozer? Who couldn’t even talk without computer assistance?

Did HE let that get in the way? Imagine what pain he suffered each and every day! Mine is like a blip on radar that size! Geez, if he can write books and lecture and share ideas with the world in the state he was in – well. You know the rest of the sentence.

So. Carry the Light, I shall.
BE the Light, I shall.
Hold heart-space for peace, joy and love, I shall.
All day, every day, I shall.
As far and as much as I can, to the very best of my ability.

And yep, I’ll fall and fail and flail around and get all mucked up and muddy, and you can bet I will whine and complain. But then, gimme that towel, dammit, help me stand up, because the road goes on, and I plan to be ON it.

I shall INTEND my story and what I do in it.
And I shall be unstoppable.

Because if our world ever needed love and peace and dignity and respect and joy, it needs it waaaay more than ever.

Can we create a world of unity and real peace, together, even if we have differing skins, words, beliefs, and abilities?

Can we get those different things to act together to make a world unlike anything anyone has ever seen before? A world in which we can have love and joy and safety?

I know it in my deepest heart of hearts:
We can DO this.
