Being bad and having fun in my red car when I was a teen on the purple road outside of town – seems like centuries ago!

I was a very slow learner – it took me forEVER to figure out driving. I got distracted so easily my instructor almost threw me out of the driver ed program.

“You’re a danger to humanity!” he screamed at me. “Stop yelling at me, I can’t concentrate!” I screamed back.

“That’s OK, Honey,” said my mother later, surprising me by consoling me and my angry tears. “You just do the best you can, whatever that is for you. Just be real.”

After that session, I drove only on the back roads since I had no license. I refused to go through that again. I was 27 before I finally got that stupid license!

One time a cop chased me, but I knew all the loops and turns to hide, and he never caught me.
