Do you ever feel like you just can’t keep up with it all?
Lately it’s as if all my attention has been sucked up by nasty shitty things people do.
I don’t much like that.
So instead of letting things bog me down, I have decided to take refuge in things I love, that make me feel joy and expansion and generosity.
I made a list. It’s actually a pretty long list – I was surprised, because lately I’ve felt like a complete grump.
I picked the top three, and made a commitment to make extra time this month to consciously enjoy them. Usually I hang out with stuff and after a while, slide into other things without much thinking.
But now I’m going to say, OK, garden? I love you! What do you need? What flowers shall we plant this year? What food can we grow easily?
And then I will enjoy each daffy as it comes out, each magnolia I see over the back fence, each bloom on my neighbor’s patch of white flowers I can’t remember the name of and who cares anyway. And every little shoot that comes up and grows into a new plant.
Because each time I consciously enjoy something – en-JOY – I am adding to the up vibes of the world. There’s enough down vibes to drown us all! Who needs more! But we do need more UP vibes.
So this month, I start with my little pot-grown garden, home-made dill pickles, and a wonderful series of reels I found.
And I think as a bonus, I will add reading feel-good stories on fb – I know they are probably not true, or written by bots, or whatever sad thing you want to attribute to them.
But they end up reminding me that humans are OK. That kindness can be found just about everywhere. And that it’s possible to feel good about something when my day has taken on a dark hue, even if it’s a silly story.
Pretty simple.
What will you commit to enjoying more this month? What will you choose to create more up vibes with in your life?
