I find myself consistently amazed at how much strife and upset there is to deal with on a daily basis now. Each day, I think, ‘this is the worst’ – but each day it all seems worse by magnitudes. What a mess.

I laugh now – ruefully – that we thought, in the mid-50s, that the school rules dictating that we girls couldn’t have our skirts above our knees was a glaring injustice. Those days were paradise, compared.

So I was just looking through my designs for something that makes me laugh, because I just can’t cry one more tear for the world. And this one hit me.

It’s called Leopard in the Rain.

The four directions all glommed together at the Source in the center,
the rain falling down,
the meeses climbing Lenny the Leopard’s legs to take a drink,
the rain splashing big white spots on Lenny,
and the birdies laughing as they try to find the snail escaping under the ‘pard –
well – I hadda laugh.

You might not – but that’s OK. I still love it.

I especially love it because from a distance it looks like the strange petals of some exotic flower, but as you get closer it changes. Tricksy-nixy!
