This is my all-time favorite beach, Kailua Beach, looking from Lanikai side. There used to be a lot more ironwood tees, but the sand is gradually seeping away with every tide, undermining the roots, and they fall over and get cut away. It’s still a grand beach. In the distance is Kaneohe.

The outrigger canoe clubs come down to practice in the afternoons, and this is the canoe, Kananu being brought back to its nest under the ironwood trees. You can see one of the Mokulua Islands in the far distance, past Lanikai.
