| Here is the
ship we were on - snazzy, eh? I'd never been cruising before
on such a ship! I've been on yachts and sailboats, and sailed
from Hawaii to California (on a 31' yawl!), but never on a behemoth
like this. They told us that it had had a retrofit a couple years
ago where they cut it in half and added more ship! Can you imagine
what that must have been like???? There were 11 levels, counting
the top-most deck at the rear that was a lounge/disco! |
| This is what
it looked like to us as we disembarked at Key West. YOu can see
how the boats that would ordinarily look good-sized look like
weeny little things in comparison! If you can find the porthole
on the second level from the mid-line one, and about under the
second from left lifeboat, that's where our cabin was. |
| This is a
good approximation of what our room looked like - we didn't have
that cushy couch (we had a chair!), but the rest was pretty much
the same. |
| This is what
the port at Key West looked like from the ship. Pretty appealing.
Once we got off the ship, it was crowded with other tourists
(me? a tourist! I had to admit it - yup - I was!). It was a small
community, lots of art, the southernmost point in the continental
USA, and plenty of interesting architecture. |
